12 Reasons to Work for DPhiE (and love it every day)

by Caitlin Elliott (Gamma Xi), Collegiate Development Consultant at the University of Florida

Have we got the experience of a lifetime for you!  Working for your sorority is the best job you will ever have in your career.  You will learn and experience more in a year than you will in a lifetime.  Take it from me…

Here are 12 reasons why you should consider working for IHQ as a Collegiate Development Consultant (CDC)

1.   You can call yourself a full-time sorority woman.

2.  You will be a role model to over 100 sisters and they will always remember how you helped their chapter.

3. You are being paid to work for an organization that you love more than anything.

4. You learn to love coffee (and all other forms of caffeine).

5.  You still get to celebrate Bid Day even though you graduated.  Who doesn’t love free DPhiE swag and t-shirts?

6.  So. Many. Gifts.

7.  You will always have a network of other consultants across the country that can relate to your problems and help you through them.

8.  The women from your chapter will give you extra love and attention because they miss you while you’re away helping another chapter grow.

9.  You become a professional crafter and leave a little bit of glitter behind wherever you go.

10. You help women meet their future best friends and become the best version of themselves.

11.  You get to share knowledge about our philanthropies and help women love themselves.

12. You learn that life as a CDC is not always easy, but you learn more than you will in any other job.  And it’s worth it.

12 - not easy

10 Things TSM got wrong about DPhiE

by Kirsten Cirelli (Alpha Alpha), Membership Manager

1.

Children

We are sorority women, and not children….

2.

Pretty sure we aren’t cats either…

3.

resume

DPhiE women have awesome resumes. With opportunities to join the chapter leadership team, or a committee under team excellence, or on the Panhellenic Council, (not to mention the service and educational programs we support), we don’t have to lie on our resumes.

Tina Fey High Five

4.

Christian

Delta Phi Epsilon is Non-Sectarian and we welcome women with all different beliefs and backgrounds.

Cheetah Sisters

5.

Skinny

With one of our International Philanthropies being ANAD (The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders) we love all body types… Be-YOU-tiful!

You are Beautiful2

6.

Hate

I don’t know who they are talking about but two of our founding values are sisterhood and love! We don’t hate each other here.   We have respect for one another.

Oprah No

7.

Local

As an international sorority we give our members opportunities to develop their personal and professional skills through events across the United States and Canada, including Engage U leadership sessions, biennial Conventions and alumna association events.  Not to mention…we have networking opportunities anywhere you live or travel.

Minions Excited

8.

No need to stand up to standards. If you are doing positive things within our sorority, you can be recognized for your outstanding work through our positive standards board procedures.  It serves as a way to congratulate and reward members for the good of the sisterhood and the greater community.  So write us up!

9.

Older

Just because your “little” or other sisters might be getting older, it doesn’t mean you won’t be a mentor for years to come.  With over 60,000 alumnae, many of whom serve on committees, boards and as dedicated volunteers, getting older and wiser has proven to provide a wealth of knowledge and support which has helped out sisterhood grow exponentially in the past 10 years.

10.

chapter attendance

The business of the sorority happens at chapter meetings and shows us how to function as an organization.  It is training for the workforce and teaches how to interact with differing leadership styles, opinions and personalities.  It doesn’t hurt that we make it fun too: with “sunshine” gifts, inspirational books, weekly academic and service awards and “Sister of the Month”,  why wouldn’t you want to go to chapter with your DPhiE sisters?

Modern Family Excited

As you can tell, being a sister of Delta Phi Epsilon is much more than TSM portrays to the social media world. Keep fighting the stereotypes and be the best version of yourself!
